La Tremoille & Puiforcat - October 2009
Our recent and exciting association with Laurent Perrier & Puiforcat : press release
Jazzy Thursdays and exclusive cocktails at the Louis2 - May 2009
The Louis2, the perfect embodiment of the rebirth of our hotel and a discreet tribute to the legendary Louis Armstrong, has enjoyed a makeover by the creative team of Stéphane Satorra and David Duron. They have revealed its graphic lines and geometric motifs and married the easy living of the Thirties with contemporary sophistication.
The bar, with its pure lines, stone structure and contemporary luminosity, is the perfect place to stop for a chat. It sums up the friendliness of the hotel.
The cocktails at the Louis2, whether old favourites or new discoveries, classics or one-offs, invite our guests to explore the secrets of cocktail mixing and set them off on a journey of discovery for the senses.
The flavours mix and blend but remain distinct, as in the Balsamic Strawberry where the attractive sweetness of the strawberry is contrasted with the vibrant acidity of the vinegar. Fruit purée, luxury alcohols and innovative ingredients combine to produce quite exceptional “signature cocktails”.
The classic Cosmopolitan takes on an air of nobility and sheer luxury with its flambéed orange peel, the Leopard Martini reveals its spots with passion fruit against chocolate, the Apple Martini boasts a twist of caramel while other cocktails pay tribute to a jazz both timeless and unforgettable. What the Dirty Martini has going for it is its simplicity compared with the retro complexity of the Old Fashioned (Bourbon, Maraschino cherry, orange peel, angostura bitters and soda) while the White Lady adds a buzz to conversations against a background of jazz.
Strains of jazz emerge from the Louis2 from Cole Porter to Sammy Davis not forgetting Duke Ellington, Dinah Washington, Cat Anderson and, of course, Louis Armstrong, and fill the district anew with their raw energy.
Every Thursday from 6pm to 9pm.
